Traditional product manufacturing businesses now overlap and intercept with traditional distribution businesses.  Distribution businesses sell financial and insurance products from multiple, competing financial product manufacturers.  Many manufacturers are also distributors and many distributors now manufacture their own products.  The number of systems and business processes required to support the various combinations and relationships is difficult to comprehend, let alone build.
